Thanks to the Barcelona Beer Festival for allowing us to be there. It was a great time, and we are looking forward to 2020! CocoVail is proud to announce that we will be in the Barcelona Beer Festival 2019. Some of our menu items will be purchasable during the beer festival at our booth. We are honored to be a part of this incredible event.
What is the Barcelona Beer Festival?
Barcelona Beer Festival is a 3 day event featuring breweries from around the world in one location. It’s Barcelona’s biggest beer festival, and by far the best homage to craft beer. Beer aficionados from far and wide come to sample beers of different variations along with music and goodies to consume, and we don’t blame them.
Who wouldn’t want to spend their weekend getting canned all in the spirit of being a “connoisseur”?
Where: La Farga de L’Hospitalet – Carrer Barcelona, 2 08908 L’Hospitalet de Llobregat
When: March 15th – 17th, 2019 (St. Patrick’s weekend, because we ALL drink like the Irish this weekend)
Daily Schedules: Friday, March 15th – 11 am to 11 pm (23h)
Saturday, March 16th – 11 am to 11 pm (23h)
Sunday, March 17th 11 am to 9 pm (21h)
How does the festival function?
The festival uses its own glasses and currency that can be acquired at all points of sale. Beer will only be served in the festival glass, and it will be charged by festival coins, because clearly they think real money is overrated. Watch out, Bitcoin. 😉
What beers are featured?
This year, there will be a record number of 646 craft beers from 314 local and international breweries at the festival. Not too shabby. The Osados beer will be exclusively presented as it is prepared at the local Tibidabo Brewery. There will be a large blackboard (super high-tech) that will announce what barrel is punched as well as different stands for the public to attend. Not only can you try out the delicious beers, but you can also get to know the brewers more personally. CocoVail will also feature one of the United States best known craft breweries, Flying Dog on March 15th as part of the week’s celebrations. Don’t lie, we all know you are dying to try their beer, especially “Raging Bitch.”
What types of activities are there to do?
This year’s Barcelona Beer Festival links the latest news from the brewing world to the public. Different breweries from Catalonia have dedicated a program and special activities to craft beer by including interactive spaces for the public to enjoy. The Barcelona Beer Festival brings citizens, visitors and professionals together by holding programs that include tastings, debates, conferences, and dinners.
In addition, there will be workshops and talks about beer culture as well as music. Within the festival, the winner of the Barcelona Beer Challenge will be announced (we already know it’s CocoVail), which is an international beer competition. Over 1,000 different beers from 20 countries are evaluated by a jury consisting of 50 accredited national and international judges.
Let us know where to sign up for THAT job. The festival also launches the Steve Huxley Award with an objective to spread awareness and generate value for craft beer.
