Best Wine Bars in Barcelona

Feb 20, 2023 | Uncategorized

Are you looking for a great place to have a glass of wine in Barcelona? We put together a list of some of the best wine bars in Barcelona.

While we are a bar / restaurant that focuses on craft beer, especially craft beer in the region, it is important to note that wine culture in Barcelona, Catalunya, and Spain is very important. There are wine regions all over the country with a wide variety of fermented grapes to wet your whistle. If you are a fan of wine, you are lucky enough to have some great options to sample wines from all over Spain, Europe, and the world.

Without further ado, here’s our list of the wine bars / bodegas you should visit while here.

Bodega Maestrazgo

Location: Carrer de Sant Pere Més Baix, 90 08003 Barcelona

This bodega is nestled on the border of Born and Eixample, very close to Arc de Triomf. According to the Google profile Bodega Maestrazgo is a “wine bar & shop offering Spanish, regional & international vino & vermouth, with tastings & tapas.” It’s definitely an authentic bodega with the rustic interiors and a wide selection of wines available for purchase to take home or sample while you are there.

We were fortunate enough to have a sit down with the owner, Josep, who has been running the place for many years. He is passionate about wine and he or the members of his staff will do their damnedest to find a wine (or many) that fits your style. They also have some simple foods to accompany the wine while you’re there: olives, jamón, and such.

Celler Cal Marino

Location: Carrer de Margarit, 54 08004 Barcelona

Cal Marino is in Poble Sec, and also has a very authentic bodega feel to it with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls. You can either buy bottles to take home or stay there and sample wines while eating a variety of cheeses, croquets, and other delicious menu items. The fellow who owns it also knows A LOT about wines, so you will surely be pointed in the right direction when it comes to your preference of style.

The location is ideal for those of you who like to bar hop, as it’s close to Carrer Blai, which has many Basque-inspired pinxo-style bars, where you can grab the tapas from the bar and they charge you after.

A Peregrina Vinoteca

Location: Carrer d’Aragó, 127 08015 Barcelona

A Peregrina Vinoteca is in Eixample, and it is a solid option for those of you who love pairing wines with cheeses and cold cuts. They have some charcuterie boards that are sublime and a wide selections of wines to go along with them. We’ve been a handful of times and have enjoyed our time there.

It’s also nice, because despite the fact that it is in the middle of the city, it’s on a street that is somewhat calm compared to the general thoroughfares around it and it has an ample terrace with several tables.

Can Cisa / Bar Brutal

Location: Carrer de la Princesa, 14 08003 Barcelona

According to their Google profile, Can Cisa / Bar Brutal is a “contemporary take on cold cuts, cheeses & seafood in a rustic bar known for its organic wines.” Surely some of you just read that and thought, “aren’t all wines organic?” Well, yes, but these wines don’t contain sulfites. This gives them a very different character than most wines, and they have a selection that is massive.

They also have an elaborate menu with cold and hot food items to choose from during your visit. We highly recommend this place!

Wine Wednesday at CocoVail

We are definitely not a wine bar, but we do give a little nod to the wine culture that is around Barcelona (and Spain, for that matter) with our Wine Wednesday deal. You can get any bottle of wine for 10 euros from 19:00 H – 02:00 H.
