International Beer Day at CocoVail 2024

International Beer Day this year is on August 1st in 2024.

To celebrate International Beer Day, CocoVail will have an extended “happy hour” from 12:30h to 20h. Come have a pint (or two) at our happy hour prices, which usually run from 16h to 18h on weekdays.

What is International Beer Day?

International Beer Day is celebrated on the first Friday of August each year, and it is a global celebration of beer and beer culture as a whole. The day is dedicated to appreciating the art of brewing, the many different types of beer around the world, and the social connections created by having a pint (or two, or more). It’s an opportunity for beer enthusiasts, breweries, and bars to come together and share their passion for this refreshment.

International Beer Day dates back to 2007 when a group of friends in Santa Cruz, California, decided to create a day to celebrate beer. Over the years, the event gained popularity and spread globally, becoming a recognized celebration in various countries.

On International Beer Day, people often participate in beer-related activities such as beer tastings, brewery tours, and beer-pairing events. Bars and breweries might organize special promotions, discounts, and themed parties to mark the occasion.

Additionally, the day encourages responsible drinking and awareness of the cultural and economic impact of the beer industry. Remember to always drink responsibly and be mindful of local regulations and laws regarding alcohol consumption.

What is International IPA Day?

International IPA Day is on August 3rd in 2023.

Similar to International Beer Day, International IPA Day is a day dedicated to celebrating India Pale Ale (IPA), a popular style of beer. International IPA Day is observed on the first Thursday of August each year.

India Pale Ale is a type of beer known for its strong flavor, often with fruity, floral, and bitter characteristics. This flavor is due to hops, which ad that special zest to the taste of beer. It has a quite the history, dating back to the 18th century, when it was first brewed in England. It later became popular in other parts of the world. In fact, our “house beer” is the CocoVail IPA, brewed in collaboration with Espiga. Have you tried it yet?

On International IPA Day, beer enthusiasts, breweries, and bars come together to pay homage to this iconic beer style. People celebrate by enjoying different varieties of IPAs, hosting tasting events, sharing their favorite IPAs on social media using the hashtag #IPADay, and discussing the nuances and flavors of the beer with fellow enthusiasts.
